Finals, Sress, Work, Stress, Home, Stress

Two weeks left until we leave for break are you serious!? I can not believe my first semester of college is almost to an end. It seriously is insane how fast time flies by when your in college. I feel like we just got here and just started classes! I can definitely feel the stress start to pile on now. The last tests, quizzes, and papers being on overload to finish and turn in. Then comes finals. I have never been more frightened and stressed about tests before in my entire life. I have no idea what is coming, like how difficult and how to prepare to take college finals. I am going to be in the library every night probably for the next two weeks! I know i will not be sleeping, but I am not sure if its because I will be up so late studying, or up so late worrying and anxious. It really is hard to try and focus on the rest of the assignments and tasks at home knowing that in just two weeks I will be at home relaxing and enjoying the holidays! I can't wait to go back home and relax without worrying about what is due next week. I was very fortunate to have taken good classes with wonderful professors my first semester. Hopefully my good fortune here at Ball State continues with that and that I learn to enjoy being here more. Oh finals here I come!

Sweet Home Mishawaka

I just got back to Mishawaka about four hours ago! I have never been more excited before to walk into my own house! This was the longest stretech I hadn't been home or seen my parents. Five weeks seemed like a year to me, but it makes me and my friends and family miss each other alot and enjoy our time together even more than before. My mom had Hacienda chips and salsa waiting for me when I in the door! I love how excited my dog Nellie gets to see me. I am super excited because I get to go see where my dad works and help out. It is going to be a week full of holiday festivities and fun with friends and family!

Thanksgiving break is near!

Two more weeks until one of my favorite holidays is here!  It seriously cannot come soon enough! It is going to be more than just eating a huge mouth watering meal this year. Thanksgiving is so meaningful and gives you a day to sit and think about all the wonderful things you are blessed with and thankful for. Being in a college has changed the way I look at things alot. College has made me realize how lucky I am to have the greatest family in the world. I miss my parents every single day, and who would have ever thought being apart would have brought us so much closer together as a family. I can't wait to spend all holiday weekend with the people who mean the most to me, my family. I am so thankful for being able to attend a highly rated school, live life with a healthy body, and have the most wonderful friends ever. Thanksgiving makes me miss the people I was so fond of as well. I miss my grandpa so much
especially when the holidays approach, because it was the time of year that we spent so much time together and made so many unforgettable memories. I wll now think of one of my dearest friends Heather who passed this year, and be thankful that I was luckiest to spend as many years together as we had. Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays there are. Wonderful times spent making memories with the ones you love most. What could be better!

Penn Sports

The highschool I went to has always been known for how strong their performances are in student athletics. Penn High School has numerous sectional, regional, semi-state, and State titles. The main hallway has a showcase filled with the trophies and plaques received from winning these titles. Penn is a 5A/4A powerhouse most people would say. The past few years although have been unlike Penn sports. Winning recors always are there, but there have been more losses in each sport than ever in the years past. This weekend is a very big sporting weekend for my highschool. The football team which are so many of my younger friends play tonight fo the sectional title. The sectional title of course is a huge deal, but the fact that we are playing our forever hugest rival for it makes it even crazier. The Mishawaka Cavemen share the town with us and had not beaten us for 28 years until last year,my senior year, when we lost to them in both regular season and for the Sectional Title. It was a heart wrenching loss for the title as we lost by pulling a field goal barely to the right. 10,000 people fill the stadium for Penn vs. Mishawaka games, it is hard to believe its only a footbal game! The boys this year lost to Mishawaka again in reg. season for Penn's third straight loss to the Cavemen. Will the came hold 2 years in a row to Penn's 28 years of victory, or can the Kingsmen pull out a huge win tonight for the title?
This weekend is the girl's volleyball Indiana State Championship game. What better of a place to get crazy and loud for your team than Ball State's arena! The State game will be played tomorow, Saturday November 6, 2010. I am really excited for this, because it is Penn my highschool playing for the State game! This is a big deal, because none of our sporting teams have been to State for quite a few years. What a weekend ahead for Penn athletics, it sure will be exciting. Go Penn go!

cooolllld weatherrrr :(

That time of year I absolutely despise is definitely here now. The cold is the worst thing ever ugh! Pulling out the mittens, scarves, warm leggings, and Ugg boots now. It was definitely an awful past week and a half. I haven't been that sick in quite someime. The stomach flu is awful to g through, and I never realized how hard it would be to be sick at college without my mom here! Finally I can eat normal foods again and keep them down, and I am feeling much better. It is very stressful to deal with missing lots of classes though, feeling behind is no fun at all. Now that it is getting super frigid outside it is very important to stay on top of the game and not get sick again. Hope I can get back on track and back to full performance as soon a possible.

Beginning Researching

Last class my English class broke off into groups we chose, and started brainstorming of contreversil topics. My group consisted of Alex, Kyle, and Paul. We all had many different idas on what would be interesting to research and write about, but it was more difficult coming up with debatable ideas. A few of the tpic ideas that aroused from ur brains knocking together were cyber bullying, the social network(something more specific within it), cults, and obesity. We hadn't really decided if any of those would be the topic of our selection, so I am working on bringing a small list of other interesting topics as well. Today in class we shall come to an agreement onwhich topic idea would be in our best interest and hopefully come up with some sort ot statement of purpose or topic sentence. Once again we're off to the start of another paper!
It has been a crazy week full of an assortment of test, quizzes, and assignments. Thank goodness it is almost the weekend! It is very much needed! I am especially ecstatic due to the fact it is family weekend here at Ball State, so my mom and dad are coming tonight. Family time is the best way to relax and become refreshed for the next week and rest of te month!

Weekend Excitement!

I definitely am into routine now with my weekly schedule with classes and homework. Sometimes the weeks drag and seem very uneventful. The ost exciting part to look forward to is definitely to the upcoming adventures and craziness of the next weekend! This weekend I am very excited because once I step out of my last class at 1:50, I will snag my bags and jump into a car with my friends for a thrilling road trip! Four of my friends and myself are heading to Bloomington from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. I am really pumped up because I have not been down to IU yet this year and always end up making some of the greatest memories while down there. It definitely is a different excitement to visit this time though due to the fact that some of my very best friends are now freshman attending IU. Tomorow night I believe I am goingout to dinner with some of my good friends from home and then we will be all hanging ou somewhere catching up! Can't wait to see my best friend and stay with her this wekend it is going to be just like old times! I sure do love the weekends!

Something New

Class, studying, reading, writing, trying my best not to procrastinate; all of which takes up so much more time in college than I could have ever dreamed of! Yes I am here to learn and all that, but Ball State has so many other opportunities to offer here on campus. The problem is for me I haven't really gotten all that involved yet! The rec center is absolutely amazing as I try to workout there as much as possible. Playing sports such as basketball or really anything with a ball you can think of takes place in the which is tons of fun. I spend alot of time just hanging out with my friends doing a whole lot of nothing which so far has been entertaining and fun, but i want something new. I am startin to get in the same old routine with the same people everyday which isn't a bad thing, but college is a chance to meet alot of various types of new people! I am thinking i want to find some goup, club, or organization that has fun people ike me in it and I would like to join it. Why not take a chance and do something new? That is the whole point of growing up and changing!

Small Fish In a Big Sea

It has been a fun week, but I surely am exhausted! I have Chemistry Labs every Wednesday for three hours and they put such a damper onto my week. I have began to really start missing my parents and home life very much. It is kind of like the reality that this is my new home has finally sunk in! I am pondering the idea of heading back home tomorow hoping that it is really refreshing and helps me have a good strong week next week. Its hard because I am use to having loving people around me all the time, and now it is kind of like I am isolated having to meet all different kinds of people. I have so many friends back home and I'm the crazy funny girl everyone knows so It is really difficult to becoming such a small fish in a massive sea. Being who I am is something I haven't changed and I know I won't because I love the girl I have become! I know that college is definitely going to be molding me more and I can't wait to see how it all goes.

On the right course

It's crazy sometimes how there is so much to do here at Ball State. Really if you're bored its completely your choice by not putting effort into doing something. That's what is difficult now that I am here off on my own with all this freedom. I'm use to having my mom and dad telling me what to and when to do it. NOw everything is up to me. I choose when to hang with friends and where, and i choose when i want to study and work on assignments. It is definitely hard when you want to just go have fun all the time, but getting school work done first is my main priortiy being here! Definitely has been an adventure making my own decisions, but I think I am off to a good start for success!

2 Weeks In the Books

It still is hard to believe that I am a freshman in college let alone the first two weeks have already passed! I absolutely adore Ball State and have been having the time of my life here! Seriouly it is like this whole new world where I have all the freedom in the world (thich hopefully turns out for the best). I love getting to go to a class then chill for a while and that the days don't seem to drag on as highschool days did. My teachers all are really great and interesting, and classes seemed to kick off to a great start! Yes I sure am loving college, but I can't for classes to be over today so my brother and I can drive back to Mishawaka! Can't wait to see my parents, my dog, and all my best friends at home! It's going to be a great weekend! Here come the Irish!!!
