Sweet Home Mishawaka

I just got back to Mishawaka about four hours ago! I have never been more excited before to walk into my own house! This was the longest stretech I hadn't been home or seen my parents. Five weeks seemed like a year to me, but it makes me and my friends and family miss each other alot and enjoy our time together even more than before. My mom had Hacienda chips and salsa waiting for me when I in the door! I love how excited my dog Nellie gets to see me. I am super excited because I get to go see where my dad works and help out. It is going to be a week full of holiday festivities and fun with friends and family!

Thanksgiving break is near!

Two more weeks until one of my favorite holidays is here!  It seriously cannot come soon enough! It is going to be more than just eating a huge mouth watering meal this year. Thanksgiving is so meaningful and gives you a day to sit and think about all the wonderful things you are blessed with and thankful for. Being in a college has changed the way I look at things alot. College has made me realize how lucky I am to have the greatest family in the world. I miss my parents every single day, and who would have ever thought being apart would have brought us so much closer together as a family. I can't wait to spend all holiday weekend with the people who mean the most to me, my family. I am so thankful for being able to attend a highly rated school, live life with a healthy body, and have the most wonderful friends ever. Thanksgiving makes me miss the people I was so fond of as well. I miss my grandpa so much
especially when the holidays approach, because it was the time of year that we spent so much time together and made so many unforgettable memories. I wll now think of one of my dearest friends Heather who passed this year, and be thankful that I was luckiest to spend as many years together as we had. Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays there are. Wonderful times spent making memories with the ones you love most. What could be better!

Penn Sports

The highschool I went to has always been known for how strong their performances are in student athletics. Penn High School has numerous sectional, regional, semi-state, and State titles. The main hallway has a showcase filled with the trophies and plaques received from winning these titles. Penn is a 5A/4A powerhouse most people would say. The past few years although have been unlike Penn sports. Winning recors always are there, but there have been more losses in each sport than ever in the years past. This weekend is a very big sporting weekend for my highschool. The football team which are so many of my younger friends play tonight fo the sectional title. The sectional title of course is a huge deal, but the fact that we are playing our forever hugest rival for it makes it even crazier. The Mishawaka Cavemen share the town with us and had not beaten us for 28 years until last year,my senior year, when we lost to them in both regular season and for the Sectional Title. It was a heart wrenching loss for the title as we lost by pulling a field goal barely to the right. 10,000 people fill the stadium for Penn vs. Mishawaka games, it is hard to believe its only a footbal game! The boys this year lost to Mishawaka again in reg. season for Penn's third straight loss to the Cavemen. Will the came hold 2 years in a row to Penn's 28 years of victory, or can the Kingsmen pull out a huge win tonight for the title?
This weekend is the girl's volleyball Indiana State Championship game. What better of a place to get crazy and loud for your team than Ball State's arena! The State game will be played tomorow, Saturday November 6, 2010. I am really excited for this, because it is Penn my highschool playing for the State game! This is a big deal, because none of our sporting teams have been to State for quite a few years. What a weekend ahead for Penn athletics, it sure will be exciting. Go Penn go!
